The FIRO Screening Process is designed to be a low barrier point of entry to the FIRO program. Through a three-stage screening process, USACE regulated dams are assessed to identify those with high potential for FIRO suitability. Sites are evaluated in collaboration with USACE District staff across a range of suitability criteria, resulting in recommendations for next steps.
The screening process web portal is a platform that District staff can use to provide input into the screening process. Informational materials are also provided on this page.
Use the link below to login and submit responses on the Stage A or Stage B FIRO screening instruments. District passwords were provided to District Water Management Chiefs.
This interactive StoryMap provides information about FIRO, the partners that have helped make it possible, pilot sites, and the screening process.
This guide provides information about FIRO, the success at pilot sites, an overview of the screening process, and how screening can inform Water Control Manual updates.
As a complementary effort, ERDC is looking to better understand operational decision practices across USACE Water Management offices. Please complete this survey if you are a District/Division Water Manager. This survey should take 10 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential and will only be reported in aggregate summaries.
